Description
The Utah Medical Products Inc. Veri-Test Pressure Checker is a small, calibrated hand-held device designed for non-invasive verification of the proper functionality and accuracy of single-use pressure sensors. Veri-Test incorporates a specially designed pressure cylinder and a precision, solid-state transducer to generate and measure static pressure from -6 to +10 psi. The adjustment knob is used to regulate the pressure, and the pressure value is shown on the liquid crystal display. The built-in pneumatic port also provides an external connector for stopcocks or pressure fittings.
Verifying Sensor Accuracy
When using the BioPharm HP-PRT sensor with its test port, which vents the backside of the sensor to the atmosphere, Veri-Test's unique design allows calibration of the system without accessing the fluid path. Veri-Test can be connected to the cable test port, and by applying a vacuum, the system accuracy can be verified non-invasively.
Verifying Monitor Accuracy (Simulation Feature)
The Veri-Test's simulation feature allows the user to simulate the sensor and verify the calibration of a pressure sensor monitor. This is performed with a second transducer housed inside the Veri-Test monitor connector. This transducer is pneumatically connected to Veri-Test's pressure vacuum pump and electrically connected to the monitor through Veri-Test's monitor connector and a reusable interface cable.
